Our Producers

FairTribe works exclusively with socially responsible Fair Trade producers outside of the U.S. Our Made in the USA products are sustainable, organic and/or recycled and created by artists known to us.

Ideo

Our French partner in fashion, Ideo, has worked hard to establish high quality Fair Trade and Organic production in India and South America. Created in March of 2002 by Rachel Liu and Antoinette Giorgi. IDEO was born out of the sheer will to combine fashion, ecology and ethics. Its collections are entirely made of ecological materials and with respect of human dignity. All three lines, women, men and baby are created by the IDEO team of fashion designers.

The raw materials as well as the manufacture of the products are produced in India, Peru, Cambodia and Tibet. Ideo is sold in 200 retail locations in France and 60 in Europe and worldwide. The company has received 4 awards since its beginning, notably the Elan de la Mode (Fédération du Prêt à porter) and the Paris Developpement Durable (Sustainable Development).

Jewelry Producers
Much of our jewelry comes from New Delhi, India, and is created by a collective that was originally formed to support a small group of teenage slum girls. The girls were trained in jewelry making, and taught about design and market trends.

Formally incepted in the year 2000, the collective now works with 7 different groups of artisans and follows the principals of Fair Trade. In doing so, they are providing support to unorganized, marginalized and underprivileged craftspeople living in and around Delhi. The artisans are provided with proper feedback, training in management skills and marketing, assistance with education for themselves and their children, taught about the ills of child labor and the importance of empowerment for women, and given financial assistance with raw materials for their creations.

Anu Mishra for Rangsutra
Later this year we will be launching a brand new Fair Trade collection by Anu Mishra for Rangsutra. Anu Mishra has studied fashion and textiles at Parsons School of Design, NYC, and the prestigious National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, India.

Her fabulous new collection fuses Indian design elements with Western couture, and is created using unique handicraft techniques including hand weaving, intricate embroidery, and tie-dye.

These fashions are produced in India by Rangsutra, a collaboration of a thousand different artisans from remote regions across the county. Rangsutra ensures sustainable livelihoods for artisans and farmers by creating top quality handmade products based on the principals of fair trade and a celebration of India’s rich craft heritage.

Rob Kimery
A good friend of the Tribe, Rob Kimery creates our original works of art for children. Having recently relocated from flashy Las Vegas to a quiet seaside town in Maine, Rob is focusing on his lifelong love of creating art. Inspired by nature's beauty in his new home, Rob is now experimenting with the use of natural materials in his artwork.

Growing up in a silent world (Rob is hearing impaired) in a small country town, he learned as a young child to express himself through rich visual art. He has studied watercolor, pastel, charcoal, oil and acrylic paints, lead and pencil, ceramics, screenprinting, clay sculpture, even welding and metalwork - and is now pouring all of his talent into his own fun, unique and whimsical style of artwork for children.
